Best Health Insurance Plans In Ohio

Original post from: Ohio Health Insurance Quotes

The best health insurance plan in Ohio may not be as expensive as you realize. Ohio health insurance rates are still fairly low compared to most other states. So, you may be able to find the “best” health insurance plan very easily from major carriers such as Medical Mutual, Anthem Blue Cross, Humana, Aetna or UnitedHealthCare. We’re Ohio’s premier resource for finding the best health care from top companies and the Ohio Health Insurance Exchange.

Often, the best health insurance plan in Ohio is not necessarily the most expensive policy. For example, a Health Savings Account (HSA) will pay for 100% of medical expenses after the deductible has been met. Preventive coverages are not subject to a deductible and “Negotiated Repriced Discounts” can substantially reduce out-of-pocket costs (especially lab tests and X-Rays).

Ohio HSA premiums are typically less than comprehensive policy premiums. The difference in premium, which is often thousands of dollars per year, can be deposited into the HSA account to be used to pay for medical, dental and vision expenses on a tax-free basis. If an individual or a family does not have many office visits or prescriptions, an Ohio HSA might actually be the best health insurance plan for their situation.

Low deducible comprehensive plans are often modeled after the rich group coverage that you receive through an employer, and are often considered to be some of the best health insurance plans in Ohio. Medical Mutual’s “SuperMed One Elite 500” plan with optional office visit and prescription coverages, provides office visit, prescription and preventive benefits without having to meet a deductible. Major medical claims are also subject to just a low $500 deductible. This particular $500 deductible plan is not cheap, but is still less expensive than many employer-provided plans.

Anthem’s “Premier” plan with included office visit and prescription options, is another policy that offers comprehensive benefits with a 0% coinsurance option. Although lower deductibles are not available, total out-of-cost expenses remain fairly low because of the 0% coinsurance. Anthem also offers one of the largest provider Network in Ohio.

As earlier mentioned, the best health insurance plan in Ohio may not be the most expensive plan. We’ll happily discuss your options, although we’re used to recommending affordable quality plans…even if they’re not the most expensive!

Low Cost Student Health Insurance In Ohio

Original post from: Ohio Health Insurance Quotes

Low cost student health insurance in Ohio is offered by most of the large health insurers. Premiums are extremely affordable and policy premiums can be paid monthly with an option to cancel coverage at any time. Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, Medical Mutual and UnitedHealthCare feature affordable plans that include comprehensive office visit, prescription and major medical benefits.

As the premier trusted resource for low cost Ohio student health insurance coverage, we research all of the available plans to find the policies that provide the coverage you need, but at the lowest possible cost. If you live in Ohio, but attend an out-of-state school, it is important that we choose a carrier that will provide Network coverage in that area, so that you have a wide choice of physicians, specialists and medical facilities.

Most major Ohio colleges and universities (Ohio State, Dayton, Miami, Bowling Green etc…) require full-time students to have medical coverage. In fact, many schools offer student coverage that can be purchased each semester. However, university health plans may limit the facilities you can use or the type of care you receive. There also may be a low “lifetime limit” on the allowable medical benefits.

An individual Ohio student health insurance plan will provide access to off-site physicians and medical facilities. If a specialist is needed, they may be located many miles away from the campus. Most health insurers have large networks that allow you to choose specialized treatment, even if the provider is located hundreds of miles away. In many situations, if needed, you can also utilize facilities in different states. University plans rarely include this feature.

Typically, student health insurance rates that view on this website are not expensive. For example, a healthy 20-year old male in the Columbus area can purchase a comprehensive policy for approximately $85 per month (Medical Mutual SuperMed One with office visit and prescription coverages). The rate reduces to $65 with a higher major medical deductible (UnitedHealthCare Copay Plus). A limited office visit/prescription policy with a high deductible would reduce the rate to approximately $50 (UnitedHealthCare Copay Saver). Because of the wide range of choices, we feel it’s important to take the time to review your best options.

To instantly view low cost student health insurance in Ohio, simply click on the “Get Instant Quote” button at the top of the page. You’ll be able to easily view, compare or apply for quality coverage from the top health care providers. You can also talk to us live by calling (888) 513 6446.

Ohio Pre-Existing Condition Health Insurance Plan

Original post from: Ohio Health Insurance Quotes

The Ohio Pre-existing condition health insurance plan will be available in August. This temporary health insurance program (“high risk pool”) is designed to offer somewhat affordable Ohio health insurance effective September 1. Applications will be accepted on August 1. Medical Mutual will operate the plan through the Ohio Department of Insurance. Non-smoking rates will be between $188 and $545 per month, depending on the age of the applicant and the requested benefits. Pre-existing conditions will be covered without a waiting period. However, there are some catches.

To qualify for coverage, you must have a “qualifying pre-existing condition,” as evidenced by a denial of coverage by two health insurers. Documentation from a health professional will also suffice. Any person who applies for the Ohio pre-existing condition insurance plan also must be a citizen or lawfully present in the United States. Also, no prior medical coverage can be in effect for the last six months and proof of Ohio residency will be required.

The Ohio Pre-Existing Condition plan will be available until 2014 when national health reform takes effect. Many experts feel health insurance rates could substantially increase at that time since any person could obtain coverage regardless of their health condition. And of course, they will be able to cancel their policy after treatment and purchase health care when it is needed again. A small penalty would be imposed if coverage is not in effect.

If you DO NOT have any major pre-existing conditions, you SHOULD NOT apply for this coverage. You may be eligible for standard coverage at much lower rates from some of the major Ohio health insurance companies such as Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, UnitedHealthcare, Medical Mutual, Humana or Assurant. You can view these rates by clicking on the “Get Instant Quote” button at the top of the page.

Ohioquotes.com is the premier resource for affordable Ohio health insurance plans and guarantees that the rates you view are the lowest allowable by the state. You can also call and speak to a live person at (888) 513 6446.

Why Should You Use An Ohio Health Insurance Broker?

Original post from: Ohio Health Insurance Quotes

Why should you use an Ohio health insurance broker? Because an Ohio health insurance broker works for you and not the health insurance company. A broker researches, reviews and studies hundreds of health insurance quotes to provide you with the most affordable plans that match your budget.

Ohioquotes.com is the state’s premier trusted Ohio health insurance broker, offering rates that are guaranteed to be the lowest allowed by the Ohio Department of Insurance. Since rates are mandated, no other broker or website can legally offer lower rates. We specialize in individual and family Ohio medical coverage, and take the time to find the plans that offer the coverage you need, and meet your specific budget.

Dramatic changes in personal health insurance coverage have made a health insurance broker’s role increasingly important in the process of explaining state and federal health insurance reform changes and their effect on your rates and coverage. Ohio health insurers have already implemented some of these changes and more changes are on the way. We monitor any change in rate, coverage or law and notify you if they will impact your policy. If necessary, we’ll recommend appropriate changes that will keep your coverages and rate where you want them.

We understand that it is very confusing and frustrating to purchase a policy…especially online. When you speak to us, you are working with a broker with more than 30 years of experience in the business. There are no fees or costs associated with the service we provide and we never share your information with any other person or company. And since we represent all of the major health insurers, you don’t have to worry about the pitfalls of going directly to a health insurance company. That is…we’ll research many plans from many different companies, not just a few plans from one company.

Online Ohio health insurance quotes are available from many websites other than ours. However, there is a good chance that another website will “sell” your information to multiple brokers and agencies outside of Ohio. The result will be incessant calls and emails that never seem to stop. That’s why tens of thousands of Ohioans have visited our website. They know they will receive unbiased up-to-date information without getting bombarded with phone calls.

For additional information, please call us at (888) 513 6446. If you would like a free online Ohio health insurance quote, simply click on the “Get Instant Quote” button at the top of the page.

Central Ohio Individual Medical Health Insurance Plans

Original post from: Ohio Health Insurance Quotes

Central Ohio individual medical health insurance plans are very affordable and are available through most of Central Ohio’s major health insurers. Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Medical Mutual and Humana offer low cost medical insurance plans through Ohioquotes.com, the state’s premier trusted resource for Ohio health insurance plans. Rates are guaranteed to be the lowest allowable by the state, so no other broker or website can legally offer a lower rate.

Affordable coverage is available whether you are single, a family, self employed, unemployed, without coverage or on Cobra. Many Central Ohio counties feature extremely competitive rates compared to other parts of the state. Comprehensive, catastrophic and Health Savings Account (HSA) plans are instantly available by clicking on the “Get Instant Quote” button at the top of the page. You can view, compare or apply online for individual medical health insurance coverage from the top companies. And we’ll work closely with you to help select the plans that best fit within your budget but provide the benefits that you need.

Some of Central Ohio’s counties include Franklin, Madison, Union, Delaware, Licking, Fairfield, Pickaway, Morrow and Knox. UnitedHealthcare’s rates are especially competitive in most of those counties. Their “Copay Plus” and “Copay Saver” plans are comprehensive policies that feature office visits, prescriptions, preventive benefits and major medical coverage. Basic maternity coverage is also an inexpensive available rider with most UnitedHealthcare plans.

Although individual HMOs are not available in this portion of the state, Aetna’s “First Dollar PPO 40” plan offers similar features, such as a “no deductible” benefit. Unlimited office visit coverage is provided ($40 copay) with comprehensive prescription and preventive coverages.

Ohio Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are a popular option for the self employed or any individual or family. HSAs are an affordable alternative to traditional Central Ohio individual medical insurance plans. It’s a savings account that allows you to pay for current qualified health, dental and vision expenses and save for future expenses on a tax-free basis. Premiums are typically hundreds of dollars per month less than a low-deductible comprehensive plan. For example, a family of four in Franklin County (Male 40 Female 40 and two children) would pay only $196 per month ($5,000 Deductible) or $271 per month ($3,000 Deductible) for an Anthem Blue Cross HSA. Medical Mutual also offers competitive Ohio HSA rates. We do NOT offer coverage through Mega Life and Health insurance or Cinergy Health Insurance companies and we’ll be happy to discuss our reasons if you call us.

Whether you need catastrophic, comprehensive or temporary short-term coverage, if you live in Central Ohio, Southern Ohio or any other part of the state, we’ll help you find the right plan at the best available price. Feel free to view an “Instant Quote” online, call us or email us.

Rising Health Insurance Premiums In Ohio

Original post from: Ohio Health Insurance Quotes

Rising health insurance premiums in Ohio are a concern for most Ohioans that pay for their own health care. Whether you’re an individual, family, self-employed or without Ohio medical coverage, rising health insurance premiums are starting to take their toll. But, affordable Ohio health insurance plans are available, and specific steps can be taken to reduce costs.

As the recognized premier trusted resource for affordable Ohio health coverage, we offer many low cost plans that are rich in coverage and may substantially reduce the amount you pay. If you don’t currently have health insurance, some of these plans are great “starter” plans that will keep your premiums low. The rates you view on this website are guaranteed to be the lowest allowable by the state. Rising health insurance premiums in Ohio will continue, but here are a few steps you can take now to reduce your cost:

If you have been with the same health insurance company for more than three years and you have no significant medical issues, it may be time to compare quotes from different companies.

Raise your major medical deductible. For example, by raising your deductible from $500 to $2,500, you could save $1,000 for an individual policy and more than $2,000 for a family policy. Assuming you don’t have many catastrophic claims, the total savings on your Ohio health insurance plan could be substantial.

Consider an Ohio HSA (Ohio Health Savings Account). Premiums are 25%-50% less than traditional plans and preventive benefits are not subject to a deductible. Naturally, there are many other factors to consider and we’ll be happy to review your options. HSAs are a very popular form of affordable family health insurance.

If your health has improved or you have stopped smoking since you purchased your Ohio policy, inquire about “changing your rate class.” It’s possible you may be able to reduce your rising health insurance premium.

Health insurance for self employed persons can be very expensive. If you are the only insureds on a group plan, Ohio individual health insurance rates may be more affordable. However, individual plans may offer less coverage than your current group policy.

Increasing health insurance premiums in Ohio are one of our biggest concerns. We believe it’s important to carefully review all of your options and recommend specific plans that will allow you to stay within your budget.

To instantly view, compare or apply for affordable Ohio health care, please click on the “Get Instant Quote” button at the top of the page. Or you can speak to us personally at (888) 513 6446. Your personal information is never shared with any other person or company.

A Health Savings Account (HSA) is an affordable alternative to traditional health insurance that offers Ohio residents an alternative method to pay for their health care. HSAs enable you to pay for current health expenses and save for future qualified medical expenses on a tax-free basis. Most major Ohio health insurance companies offer HSAs. The most competitive rates are offered by Anthem Blue Cross, Medical Mutual, Aetna, UnitedHealthOne and Humana.

You must be covered under a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) to qualify to make an HSA contribution. An HDHP is an inexpensive health insurance policy that costs substantially less than a traditional Ohio health insurance plan, and offers you the opportunity to deposit the money you save into the HSA.

As Ohio’s premier trusted resource for affordable HSA coverage, we research all of the major health insurance companies. Only the highest-quality plans are considered with most offering preventive coverage that is not subject to a deductible. The quotes rates are the lowest allowable by the state.
